A Beautiful Glittery Butterfly!

I am sure that got your attention!  You know I love all butterflies so when I saw this beautiful stamp from The Rubber Cafe' called Large Highwing Butterfly I just had to have it.  Well I finally was able to sit down and make a card using this stamp.

Here are some of the supplies I used...

To make the butterfly, I stamped the Large Highwing Butterfly image onto some patterned paper and painted Scrap Happy Sheer glue all over the image.  I let the glue dry for a few seconds and then poured You're So Fine - Diamond Clear Cool Highlight Glitter all over it and rubbed it into the glue with my fingers.  I let that dry for a few more minutes and cut out the butterfly.  I stamped the Spread Your Wings Sentiment onto the bottom of the patterned paper using Rich Cocoa Memento ink pad.  The flower was made using Rose Creations die templates and Media Mixage 100# Fine Art Paper.  I spritzed the flower with some shimmer mist after I assembled all the layers.  Here is a close-up of the butterfly......

Beautiful Poppies Card!

Hello friends!  Hope you are having a fantastic week!  So far so good here at our house!  This weekend is Graduation for some of my daughter's friends.  Today I had a few minutes to create something just for this occasion!

Yes I dusted off my Copic Markers.  It has been so long since I colored anything that the markers did actually have dust on them!  LOL  I stamped the Inked Poppy image using Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto some Simply Smooth Ivory cardstock.  After I colored the image, I cut/embossed using Labels Twenty Three from Spellbinders® Paper Arts.   I used some new patterned paper from KaiserCraft called Remember Me.  It's full of poppies and lovely colors!  The red seam binding ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I stamped the sentiment - Take Time To Dream - at the bottom of the card using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  This card measures 5 1/4 x 5 1/4" square from Kraft cardstock.

I think any one would love the get this card, don't you?  This past weekend, I demo'd Spellbinders Paper Arts at the Michael's in South County.  I had so much fun showing all the wonderful things you can cut/emboss and stencil to all the customers!  Be sure to check out the new Spellbinders On The Road blog to see if someone is coming to your local Michael's!! On The Road with Spellbinders!

Hello Friends!  Hope you are having a wonderful day!  I am very excited about my day because I will be doing a demo at the local Michael's store for Spellbinders™  Paper Arts!  If you live in my area come by the South County Michael's on Lindbergh BLVD and visit me between 12 and 2 pm.  I will be showing all kinds of nifty techniques using Spellbinders™  die template and Grand Calibur®  Die Cutting and Embossing Machine.

Last Saturday, I did a demo at the Fenton Gravois Bluffs Michael's.  I had so much fun.  Here is a picture of me with Carol (Michael's Crafty Teacher) and some ladies that were watching my demo.

Pocket of Roses Wall Hanging

I was so excited to see another of my projects in the Idea Gallery on the Spellbinders™ Paper Arts website.  This project is actually one of my favorites!  I made it back before Christmas.  Here is my project:

The pocket on this project is from one of my daughter's favorite pairs of jeans.  While participating in a reward day for good End of Course tests, she ripped the crotch of her favorite jeans.  There was no way to fix them, so I promised her I would recycle them!  LOL  I cut some 100% Wool Felt using S5-050 Rose Creations Dies.  I used my hot glue gun to put them together.  The white felt flowers were airbrushed with Copic marker.  

It's kinda hard to see but I used some clip art inside the Shields One Bezel to accent the pocket.  Here is a close-up:

 

I used my computer and the Dymo font to print out the journaling.  It says:  The Rose Speaks of love silently in a language known only to the heart.

 

 also added some corrugated board that was painted with white gesso.  The base of this wall hanging was made from LF-018 Grand Decorative Labels One and Kraft cardstock glued to cereal box weight chipboard.  I had so much fun making this.  It is such a different type of project for me!

Work in Progress

Sorry I haven't posted a project in a while.  Everyday life sometimes gets in the way of creating and blogging.   In a way, I am so glad April is over.  Every weekend I had something to do - go to Nashville for the band festival, take a trip to visit Truman State University plus go to the College Wind Symphony concert in Kansas City with the hubby - see what I mean?  LOL

So I have been working on lots of projects I can't show you but I did have alittle time to start a project but like I said in my title it is a work in progress.  I will post more about it in the future when I finish.

So I have all the pages cut out and the front is decorated.  My middle daughter went to her Junior Prom and I have a ton of pictures I can't wait to get inside this little mini album.

Do you have any works in progress that you just can't seem to finish?  Hopefully I am not the only one with this issue!  LOL  Have a great week!

A Special Mother's Day Card

Hello Friends!  Hope you are having a great week!  Sorry I haven't posted much lately I have been so busy with my girls.  Two weeks ago we went to Nashville with the band for the Heritage Music Festival.  Then this past weekend, we went on our first college visit with my middle daughter.  We visited Truman State University in Kirksville, MO.  I can't believe that Caitlyn is old enough to start her college search.  She will be a Senior next year.  I should be used to this because my oldest daughter is already in college but I am finding it alittle hard to let go this time!  

Last night I had time to sit down and make a card.  I used stamps from The Rubber Cafe' and some of my new embellishments I showed you in the video I did a couple of weeks ago.  Here is my card.

 

The base of this card is made from Kraft cardstock.  I stamped the 18th Century Proclamation using Versamark ink onto the base.  Then using liquid adhesive I attached the doily to the card.  I cut/embossed Pink Lemonade Pop-Tones cardstock using S4-136 Classic Hearts # 4 (remember #1 is the smallest).  After stamping the heart with the same background stamp, I added the MOM from Give Momma Some Love set.  The flower was made using S5-050 Rose Creations, S5-086 Bitty Blossom dies plus Whip Cream Pop-Tones.  I shaped a few layers of Rose Creation dies then added the Bitty Blossom in the middle.  To finish everything off I added some rose seam binding.

Since I won't be mailing this the big flower isn't a problem.  But if you are thinking of making a similar card, I would go with a flower that is low profile.  I think anyone would love this card, don't you?  Hope you have a great day!
